Development

These pages are about how Orion is made rather than how to use it. They're for anyone working on Orion, or curious about why it works the way it does.

  • Design covers how Orion looks and feels: visual direction, interaction, and studies of ideas that may or may not ship.
  • Engineering covers how Orion is built: architecture, public interfaces, and proposals for changing them.

Three pages sit above both. The charter sets Orion's direction: its principles, what it won't do, and the roadmap. The decisions record the specific calls made along the way and why. The origins tell where the name, the logo, the companion, and the early directions came from, and who brought each one in. A page here can recommend a change, and once the change is settled, the call moves into the decisions.
